Notes about using Google Docs

Use preview in Google Doc sharing link to open own Google Doc in non-editing mode. For example, https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qxL0nuX8rgZGqDI45q_5cPhuF7qzj2zsEoJXQukXWWQ/preview

Note that:

With editing mode, there is a risk that I may inadvertently change a document of mine which I just want to view. Note that Google Doc uses Auto Save.

Also the editing mode can be changed to viewing mode by clicking on the mode drop-down at top-right of Google Docs window but I want to avoid that extra step.

Removing the /preview part of the url and reloading switches the document from preview to editing mode.

Copy-paste of ChatGPT chat in dark mode into a Google Doc usually works and is a good mechanism to locally save the chat and even share it with few person(s). ChatGPT seems to provide only public share option and once publicly shared, the user does not seem to have facility to unshare it. So copy-paste of the chat into a Google Doc provides more options. But, at times, this method results in some text not being visible in Google Docs. One solution is to select all the text in Google Docs and apply black Text colour to all.
