Notes on AI APIs and AI apps
Last updated on 16 May 2025
Moved following note dated 26 Apr 2025 from another blog post:
I am going through a short diversion about using AI API in React/Next.js apps. Related post(s) that I have put up:

Based on some thoughts I shared with a friend: Currently, my specific interest in AI is in how it can be used in education apps and also for answering queries on spirituality and religion. Further, my plan is to get into deeper exploration of usage of AI in education apps after I finish some React Native related goals which will also involve an education app, I have set for myself. Essentially, once I have an education app developed (which will be a portfolio app demonstrating my skills in full stack development on MERN stack), I plan to add some AI stuff to it, if that's available in free tier (like Google Gemini API which you shared with me). I would like to rely on big AI companies to provide the trained models (like ChatGPT or Google Gemini) as I think their data and responses may be better than others and also more acceptable to users (as Google Gemini response or ChatGPT response).
As I had got a recent email invite from Apollo GraphQL with the misleading claim of "No Code Required", I interrupted my React Native stuff and got into it.
Some more info.... Some tech. wise big guys like Bill Gates and Eric Schmidt (Google former CEO) are saying awesome things about AI and how it is going to transform life in the coming years . Recently I saw this around 5 min clip of Eric Schmidt talking about AI to USA Congress, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5l8eDLunQFU . The context was about competition with China and how Schmidt thinks it is vital that USA wins the race (from USA interests point of view). But what struck me was some statements he made about great progress made in AI (and happening very quickly) and how it is going to transform life in coming years (and I think he means years as in near future and not decades).
I think I myself had tried out ChatGPT perhaps sometime in 2022 asking it spiritual kind of stuff and at that time I was not so impressed by it, I think. Recently when I tried out ChatGPT again on Vedanta, I was very impressed by its response. So, if my recollection of my 2022 use of ChatGPT is somewhat accurate, I myself am experiencing the quick and impressive progress made by ChatGPT (the publicly available part of it).
I am slowly getting around to believing at least partly in what Bill Gates, Eric Schmidt and other tech leaders are saying about how AI is going to change the world.
As education and spirituality & religion have been core interests of my life for many years, I wonder how AI is going to transform these areas and how quickly that is going to happen. How is that going to impact education apps? How is that going to impact spirituality & religion apps? How are lives of people going to be impacted through these apps and the AI they would be using? Those are key questions and interests for me.
